What to Expect During Your Massage.

Your therapist will do everything possible to ensure that your experience is positive and rewarding.  Initially you will complete a health intake form that will ask about your current physical condition, medical history, lifestyle, stress level, areas of pain, and other pertinent topics.  Your massage session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room.  Soft music may be played to help you relax.  You will lie on a table especially designed for your comfort.  You will have complete privacy in which to disrobe.  While most bodywork and massage techniques are performed with the patient unclothed, you decide the amount of clothing you prefer to wear for your own comfort.  You will be properly draped with a sheet during the session.  Please be sure to communicate with your therapist about any kind of distractions whether it be physical discomfort, pressure, room temperature, music, or any other source. Your therapist wants you to be as relaxed as possible and will make modifications as necessary.  The average full-body massage session lasts approximately one hour.  Half-hour sessions are also available but only allow for a partial massage such as neck and shoulders or back, legs, and feet.  During the massage, make yourself comfortable.  Your therapist will either gently move you or tell you what is needed throughout the session.  After your massage, relax and drink plenty of water.

    What is Aromatherapy?

To get an added effect during your massage, we offer aromatherapy.  Aromatherapy is "treatment using scents".  It is a holistic treatment of caring for the body with pleasant smelling botanical oils which work to balance, harmonize and promote the health of body, mind and spirit. During an aromatherapy massage, essential oils will be massaged into the skin.  The essential oils of aromatherapy can be used for many reasons, including relief of pain, alleviation of tension & fatigue and invigoration of the entire body. All of our aromatherapy products are botanically based, hypoallergenic, and formulated without mineral oil, dyes, or chemical fragrances.  We have three scents to choose from depending upon your desired outcome.  “Unwind” contains ylang ylang and chamomile to produce relaxation and instill serenity.  “Reactivate” contains pepper and nutmeg which instills confidence and balance.  And, “Awaken” contains lemon oil to create vitality, toning, and freshness.  You may sample the scents prior to your massage to help you select your favorite.
